Dogs don’t speak Times New Roman

Are you choosing the right font?

When Microsoft graphic designer Vincent Connare noticed Times New Roman being used in a speech bubble for a cartoon dog named Rover, he felt it wasn’t the right choice to convey a casual and user-friendly tone.

So he created Comic Sans - a typeface that would look more informal and fun than Times New Roman. Perfect in a speech bubble for a friendly dog!

Comic Sans

Designed to be approachable and easy to read. It’s casual, fun, and friendly.

Use in classroom posters, light-hearted social media posts, speech bubbles.

Times New Roman

Designed back in 1931 for The Times newspaper. It’s known for its elegant and classic appearance.

Use in legal documents and academic papers.

Consider the intended use

Match the font to the tone and purpose of your communication.

Comic Sans isn’t the appropriate choice for a legal document, just like dogs don’t speak Times New Roman.

Choosing the right fonts can make all the difference.
